Open Sheep Show

Judging – Saturday, August 13th, 11:00 a.m.

Each exhibitor must have Certificate of Veterinary inspection and meet requirements of the Scrapie Program.

1. Competition is open to the world.

2. All animals to be shown must arrive at the fairgrounds by 9:30 a.m., Saturday, August 13th, and will be released one hour following completion of the show.

3. All animals exhibited must meet health requirements of the Fair.

4. Sheep must be entered using entry form in the Fair Catalog.

5. All animals entered in the Open Sheep Show must be purebred and must be registered in the name of the exhibitor, or transferred to the exhibitor by August 1. Registration certificates or transfer certificate, properly executed, must be presented to the chairman of the show when sheep arrive at the fairgrounds.

6. Exhibitors are allowed to enter no more than two animals in any one lot.

7. Feed and bedding must be furnished by the exhibitors and the animals kept in the place assigned.

8. Exhibitors must comply with Rules and Regulations of the Tennessee Department of Agriculture and to our General Rules.




9. Premiums will be paid for places 1-6 according to the following schedule.
        1st - $10.00
        2nd - $9.00
        3rd - $8.00
        4th - $7.00
        5th - $6.00
        6th - $5.00
If only one entry in a class, Exhibitor will receive 2nd place money. Ribbons will be presented for placing one through ten.

10. Breed shows will be provided for any breed with 10 or more head. Those breeds with less than 10 head will show in another breed's class.

11. One exhibito will receive free entry.  An entry fee of $1.00 per head will be assessed.

CLASS 06 Market Lamb Show 
    1. General rules of the Open Breeding Sheep Show apply
    2. An exhibitor may show no more than two (2) lambs in this show.
    3. All market lambs must have lamb teeth and must be wether or ewe lambs.
    4. Ewe lambs shown as market lambs cannot show in the Open Breeding Show.
    5. Lambs will be weighed and divided into classes by weight.
    6. There will not be a sale in connection with this show.

CLASS 07 Commercial Ewe Show
    1. General rules of the Open Breeding Sheep Show apply
    2. An exhibitor may show no more than two (2) ewes in this show.
    3. All ewe lambs must have lamb teeth.
    4. Yearling ewes must have yearling teeth.  No ewes will be shown with two year teeth.
    5. Ewes shown as commercial ewes cannot show in the Open Breeding Show.
    6. Ewes will be weighed and divided into classes by weight.
